It is copy of Basu Chatterjee's Khatta Meetha (1978), which itself was based on the 1968 movie Yours, Mine and Ours, but was not a copy and Khatta Meetha had Ashok Kumar and Pearl Padamsee in lead roles and played an old couple marrying with children from their previous marriages, and film's rights were later bought over.
